We are a small family farm in Northwest Oregon working to prove that focusing on happy, healthy animals does not exclude being sustainable and profitable.
Our goats consist of ADGA registered Nubians, Oberhaslis, and a few experimentals.
A large part of our operation is the twice daily milking that Farm Momma Kate does as part of the farm’s everyday routine. Our goats’ milk is the foundation for a lot of the food that supports the farm and, as the number of goats grows, so does the opportunity to expand our range of milk-based products.
We breed our goats for quality in both the show ring and the milk bucket. We are a CAE, CL, and Johnnes negative herd through yearly testing, vaccination, pasteurization, and buying from other “clean” herds. We also participate in the ADGA performance programs Linear Apprasial as a Host herd, and DHIR milk testing. They are fed 24/7 a local crabgrass/bermuda/clover mix hay, loose minerals, and have constant access to fresh water and baking soda. The Does are fed a daily 16% custom mix with twice yearly copper bolus to maintain a high level of health and fertility.
Kids meant for a future in the show ring and milk stand are pulled at birth and raised on a CAE prevention protocol, consisting of heat treated colostrum and milk. We do this as double prevention of passing the disease, even with the yearly testing we do. Kid availability and prices can be found on our For Sale page, and please take a look at our Purchase Agreement as well.
