First real cold morning here. The pond surface is frozen for about a yard out, and the Pyrenees are in heaven. The goats just want breakfast.
That’s right, the barn now has a working hot water heater. Why do we need hot water in the barn? I’m so glad you asked!
We got this point of use hot water heater from lowes. Its the same as the one in the old barn, and we are very happy with it.
We also sketched out the final floorplan for the Milk Parlor and Kidding stalls. Its coming right along, my friends!
I spent most of the day driving Serenity the Suburban around North Little Rock and Little Rock gathering recycled lumber for the trailer floor and milking room floor. Trailer floor bounces when you step on it (or thru it in one case), which will not not safe for the 2016 Spring show and 15 goats in it. The milking room/barn kitchen floor doesn’t exist yet, but will need plenty of support!
The Suburban is PACKED, to the ceiling, with some pieces so long the back doors had to be open and tied together. Ive got pallets tied to the luggage rack. And tomorrow I’m off for more! Thank goodness Chevy make them to last in the 90’s.
The generosity of people never ceases to amaze me. So I always try to return that generosity when i can, and hope I am successful.
2016 is a new year, at a new farm, so it’s time for something else new: an actual website and blog!
Please take a look around. We will be adding more information in the upcoming days, including updated pictures of all the goats, more about our history, and other fun Goatroper happenings.
Thanks for visiting! See you around the farm.
